Students will spend the night at the Hackathon as they team up to code projects such as games, apps and websites with guidance from professional mentors. The Hackathon is a fun and engaging way to expose students to the world of computer coding and the many career opportunities available in the field.
WHAT: Hackathon by the Sea
WHEN: Friday, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. to Saturday, December 1 at 4:30 p.m. An optimal time for media coverage is anytime Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: VCOE Conference and Educational Services Center – 5100 Adolfo Rd., Camarillo, CA 93102
This year, the Hackathon’s theme is “Make Tomorrow Better.” In addition to last year’s favorites, the Hackathon will have some new features, including 3D printers and a soldering competition. There is a lot of enthusiasm for this event, which sold out in just six days. The Hackathon will be full of great visuals and interview opportunities. A video of last year’s Hackathon is available here.
